Our 2017 Estate Cabernet received oak aging for 36 months in custom barrels made from three different oak forests in France. Our fantastic winemaker, Alejandro Alfaro, supervises the building of our barrels to enhance the wine so that we can create that perfect vintage. Bottling was completed in our cellars in July 2020. This was truly a small production of only 195 cases.
Winemaker Notes
Coming from a single vineyard on the west side of St. Helena, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and offers a dense a deep garnet-purple color as well as a complex nose of blackcurrants. The wine aroma has a wonderful red fruit-filled nose with endless complexity. On the palate, plums, baked cherries, and crème de cassis are accentuated with hints of tobacco and cedar. Integrated tannins anchor the wine’s well-structured palate which leads to a long, velvety finish. The wine is ready to drink now and will continue to age wonderfully over the next 10 to 15 years.
